On Saturday 22 October 2011, during the annual Blizzcon event, Blizzard Entertainment announced that work is already underway for the next expansion, called Mists of Pandaria, for their massive multiplayer on-line game World of Warcraft.

Introduction to Mists of Pandaria

It is perhaps a little difficult to comprehend that World of Warcraft was launched nearly eight years ago. And that you may have spent more time in Azeroth and the surrounding areas, than with your family and real friends. But hey, it’s your life and you decide for yourself.

It was not hard to predict – the game’s success taken into account – that Blizzard would continue to build on the success of their online role-playing game, World of Warcraft, as long as it was profitable.

It therefore comes as no great surprise that the developer has revealed the fourth expansion to the game - WOW: Mists of Pandaria .

Mists of Pandaria continues with the story after the Cataclysm, the game’s current expansion, launched in 2010.

In the Mists there is a new playable class, a warrior monk, who can spec for either damage, healing or tanking and for the first time in the history of the game the Pandarians are a neutral playable race, meaning that it’s not affiliated with either Alliance or Horde factions.

Furthermore, the level limit has been raised five more levels to level 90, and gameplay once again has been expanded, with new forms of World PvE in so-called Scenarios, where you can meet with teammates and fight for a common, larger goal, such as a major defense against invading monsters.

Blizzard has also worked on new exotic locations and zones such as Jade Forest, Only-Lai Summit and more areas, based on the new Pandaren race.

Finally, it also introduces the Challenge Mode, where you can play through the many dungeons the game has to offer within a time limit, for both glory and improved loot.

Oh and before I forget, in Mists of Pandaria your pets will be able to duel each other. This is great for those moments when you are running around Orgrimmar or Ironforge, or whilst waiting in queues for dungeons, raids or battlegrounds.
